Functions:

Drafting, interpreting and reviewing primary and secondary legislation pertaining to Telecom Sector laws, rules and regulations and Standard Operating Procedures are the main responsibilities / functions of Law & Regulations Division. L&R Division also formulating legal opinions on matters referred by other divisions of PTA as well as the licensees, stakeholders, Ministries/Divisions and other forums. L& R division also advising the Authority in the cases requiring legal input on various regulatory matters and initiation of legal proceedings u/s 23 of Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Act ,1996. L&R Division is responsible for processing cases of Wafaqi Mohtasib & Regional Offices and complaints before Human Rights Cell of Supreme Court of Pakistan.
