Functions:

The Commercial Affairs Directorate is mainly responsible for ensuring fair competition in the market. CA division also entrusted to regulate the tariffs of various telecommunication services, keeping in view the consumers' interest and the profitability of telecom operators. It determines operators with significant market power and takes appropriate measures to prohibit dominant operators from anti-competitive practices. CA division also ensures any-to-any connectivity among telecom operators through seamless interconnection with emphasis on establishing interconnection charges that are cost-based, transparent and non-discriminatory. Commercial Affairs division regulates Approved Settlement Rates and coordinates with the Ministry of Information Technology in framing appropriate Rules & Regulations.
