Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) alongwith Federal Investigation agency (FIA) has conducted a successful raid in Lahore and seized a functional illegal gateway exchange. According to details PTA and FIA teams through combined efforts carried out raid at House No 1 86/2k Street No 80 Amer Sidhu Lahore. During the raid an operational illegal gateway exchange comprising of eight (08) illegal gateways along with number of SIMs have been confiscated.

It may be added that PTA is observing the international traffic coming in to the country, round the clock. The aim of monitoring is to identify the illegal gateway exchanges and track the elements operating them. Such exchanges bring huge loss to the national exchequer as well as to the telecom sector.
