PTA Establishes Regional Office in Muzaffarabad

Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has established its Regional Office in Muzaffarabad to facilitate the telecom sector of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K). The opening of PTA office in AJ&K has been made in the wake of adoption of Pakistan Telecommunication Reorganisation Act by the AJ&K Council.

PTA is mandated to regulate the establishment, operation and maintenance of telecommunication systems and provision of telecommunication services in Pakistan. Telecom sector of Pakistan is exhibiting thriving growth patterns due to facilitation of the government and the regulator.

Extension of PTAâ??s Jurisdiction to Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Northern Areas (NAs) is a landmark decision to attract investment, create new employment opportunities and to provide affordable telecom services to the subscribers of these areas.
