Islamabad: In the light of Cabinet decision on effective utilization of day light, Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) has directed all its licensed operators and telecom services providers to ensure that all clocks in their internal systems & interfaces should be adjusted to conform to new timings being adopted by the Government of Pakistan from June 1, 2008.

The Authority has further directed that all telecom service providers will ensure that their subscriber, domestic inter-operator, international inter-operator, billing & tariff reconciliation and other charging and non-charging issues are well catered with no discrepancies and without any misleading information.

It may be mentioned that the change in clock timings shall come into effect on the midnight between May 31, 2008 and June 1, 2008 and all clocks will be advanced by one hour. The Authority has said that one hour advancement in time would be followed till further orders of the Government.
