Illegal Gateway Exchanges Raided in Pindi Bhattian and Hafizabad:

Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in its ongoing efforts to control grey traffic has unearthed illegal gateway exchanges in Pindi Bhattian and Hafizabad.

According to details, a successful raid against the grey operators was carried out along with FIA teams at Mohallah Qatal Garh near Bilal Masjid Pindi Bhattian, Illegal exchange comprising of two gateways, 48 ports, along with other equipments was confiscated. One person was arrested from the spot, who was in the custody of FIA for further investigation.

Another successful raid against the grey operators was carried out along with FIA teams at Madina Colony Hafizabad. Illegal exchange comprising of two gateways, 64 ports, along with other equipment’s was confiscated. One person was arrested and was in the custody of FIA for further investigation.

Furthermore on the identification of PTCL, another raid in the presence of local Police was conducted at Sher Garh, Hafizabad but residents strongly resisted to avoid search, hence, search could not be done. However, Police has registered case against residents.

The successful raids against the grey operators were made possible because of continuous monitoring, commitment and persistent efforts by PTA in curbing the menace of grey traffic thus curtailing the loss to the national exchequer because of grey traffickers in the country.
