Five Illegal Gateway Exchanges Raided in Karachi, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi and Sialkot:

Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in its ongoing efforts to control grey trafficking unearthed five illegal gateway exchanges at Karachi, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi and Sialkot.

According to details, five successful raids against the grey operators were carried out along with FIA team in the areas of Karachi, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi and Sialkot.  First raid was carried out at House No. 250, Gizri Clifton, Karachi. An illegal exchange comprising of 1 x 32 Port, 1x 4 Port gateways along with  2 laptops, 3 PTCL Modems 142 Sims  were confiscated. One person was arrested from the spot.

Second raid was conducted at Gulshan-e- Iqbal, Zainab Plaza, Karachi in which one illegal exchange comprising of 1x8  ports 2x4 port gateways along with laptop were confiscated. One person was arrested from the scene.

Third raid was conducted at Flat 32, Tayyaba Complex, Qasim Abad, Hyderabad in which one illegal exchange comprising of 9 x 8 ports 1x 32 port gateways, 2 LAN switches, 2 laptops, 1 PTCL Modem and various Sims were confiscated. One person was arrested from the spot.

Forth raid was conducted at Jhangi Syedan, Rawalpindi in which two gateways having capacity of 8 Ports each were confiscated. The accused was arrested on the spot.

Fifth raid was conducted at Rehmanpura, Sialkot in which one illegal exchange comprising of 6 illegal VOIP gateways, 6 x 12 Ports along with other equipment a gun and ammunition etc were confiscated. One person was arrested from the spot and was in FIA custody for further investigation.
