MoU Signing with Higher Education Commission (HEC)

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on December 9, 2024. This collaboration aims to foster technological innovation and address dynamic policy and regulatory challenges.

The collaborative model between PTA and HEC is expected to drive improvements in areas such as curriculum development, the creation of specialized training programs, regulatory innovation workshops, and aligning research with real-world problems by incorporating inputs from experts in the telecom/ICT industry.

Ongoing Collaborations with Higher Education Commission (HEC)

PTA in collaboration with HEC is raising awareness in educational institutions of Pakistan regarding safe and responsible use of internet & Social Media.

1. HEC Seminars
   1. Sensitized VCs of over 165 Universities about the wide circulation of blasphemous content and emphasized on playing active role in raising awareness among youngsters for responsible and legitimate use of internet.
   2. Participated as a speaker in seminar held on October 4, 2023 on “Awareness Regarding Prevention of Blasphemous Material/Activities on Social Media”.
2. Participated as a speaker in seminars held at following universities & colleges regarding raising awareness about spreading blasphemous content & responsible use of social media:
3. Wafaqi Mohtasib & COMSATS University - November 20, 2023.
4. NUTECH University - January 3, 2024.
5. University of Karachi - February 13, 2024.
